Ares Atlas

Description

This project was focused on creating a platformer game where player can switch between 2D and 3D perspectives.
The game was developed using Unity and C#.

Participation in the 8th Gran CITM Game Jam.
Awarded Best Technology and received honorable mentions for Best Design and Best Game.

Contributions

As the programmer of the game, I made the following contributions:

  • Implemented physics for both 2D and 3D player mechanics, ensuring smooth interaction with the environment.
  • Created a dynamic perspective switching system to transition between 2D and 3D modes, including changes in rotation, lighting, camera views, and collision management.
  • Designed and implemented a replay system that records player movements and animation states for replays.
  • Created a shader with a paper texture to render camera views in the book.

  • Experience Gained

  • Improved understanding of physics implementation across different spatial dimensions.
  • Gained experience in designing dynamic game mechanics and perspective transitions.
  • Enhanced knowledge of camera rendering techniques in Unity.
  • Developed skills in creating efficient replay systems for gameplay features.
